Kalakand Recipe/ How To Make Kalakand

Kalakand is very popular Indian sweets. It’s two main ingredients are milk and sugar. Cardamom powder and nuts may be used for extra flavour and garnishing. It is a simple and tasty dessert for your guest.  I used paneer for this recipe. You can try these in my way and enjoy.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup cottage cheese or paneer
  • 500 gm. full fat milk
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • Nuts: cashews, almonds chopped

Preparation:

  • We need completely drained paneer or cottage cheese for this recipe. Crumble it and keep aside.

  • Grease a cake tin with a little ghee and keep aside.

  • Pour the milk to a pan and boil on low flame.
  • Add sugar and wait to dissolve the sugar and boil 5-8 mins.

  • After 5 mints add crumble cottage cheese and stirring continuously and cook 10-12 mints on low flame.

  • When  it becomes a thick mass it will begin to leave the sides of the pan.
  • Add cardamom powder and mix.
  • Transfer the mixture or kalakand immediately to already greased cake tin.
  • Spared it up to ¾ inch thickness. Add chopped nuts and press with a spatula.

  • Refrigerate kalakand for 2 hours.
  • Cut into square shapes and enjoy the dish.
